The sad part is that I could eat outside most nights and I almost never do. Shame on me and all Californians who don't take advantage of our weather. Now I need to go punish myself...
It is a rare treat for us to be able to eat outside. We could wear jackets and deal but it's just not the same. So when it's a nice day, as it is today, you have to take advantage.
Is it true, the stereotype of Californians driving to places really closeby instead of walking?
Unfortunately that stereotype is accurate. There are a few exceptions, such as Pasadena, but that is because they have a true downtown.
For example, at lunch today I went with nine people to a restaurant that is less than a kilometer away and not only did we drive, but we used 4 different cars to transport everyone. I hate being a stereotype, but I can't seem to avoid this one.
FYI, you are having a nice day and we are suffering from June gloom and the overcast skies that come with it.
In contrast, I walked just over 10,000 steps today (5 miles/8km). There is a drugstore down the street that I feel guilty if I don't walk to, it's a 15 minute walk.
By the time we managed to get BBQing tonight, I had to put on a sweater, it was too cold to casually sit outside in a t-shirt. But with our jackets on it made a nice night.
I have a personal policy of wearing shorts and a t-shirt by April 1, at the latest. I have to compensate for wearing casual business attire during the week. Tonight I’m going to my girlfriend’s daughter’s school variety show (I need to find a shorter way to say that and I probably put the apostrophes in the wrong places but someone will correct me), which is being hosted outside, so I’ll finally get some fresh air.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.
Actually your apostrophes are correct, good job!
By April 1 we rejoice if it's not still snowing :)
